This paper raises and discusses the relation of antonymy in adjectives. Antonymy is considered to play an important role in organizing mental lexicon. This relation defined often in logical terms stands for paradigmatic relation, as presented in WordNet. However, the category of antonymous adjectives can depend on more than just the semantic qualities of a word. It is often highly context dependent. Adjectives have different interpretation depending on the noun they modify — it is no surprising that they produce different antonyms in different contexts. On the basis of few examples of investigations of antonymy, this paper argues that antonymy is not only a paradigmatic but also a syntagmatic relation. The paradigmatic-syntagmatic distinction is not always relevant to all antonymous adjectives.

Many researches on linguistics either traditional or functional linguistics have been conducted in both pure linguistics and applied one. Included into the applied one, this research aims to describe Psychological Subject (PS) in the news headlines of university websites in Indonesia beside the meta description that influences the reader to click the website. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis by using data from the news headlines of 5 (five) university websites in Indonesia. The results of this research show that the elements of PS in the news headlines are the name or identity of universities, the elements of university, the activities conducted in the universities, and the other parties which conduct activities in or together with the universities. Kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi (KBAT) merupakan kemahiranyangpenting da/am proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Pengajaran matematik dan statistik terutamanya memerlukan pensyarah yang berkemahiran dalam merancang aktivitipembelajaran dan menggunakanpenilaian yang sesuai bagi menanamkan kemahiran berfikir dalam kalangan pelajar. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kehadiran pengaruh globalisasi yang memberikan efek bagi perkembangan anak-anak, baik efek positif maupun negatif. Salah satu efek positif globalisasi adalah membantu secara cepat dalam perkembangan anak-anak, seperti dalam bidang ilmu pengetahuan. The source of data of this research is the lexical items and grammatical items in Reader’s Digest Magazine. In analyzing the data, the writer used lexical density theory by Ure. This article was written to describe the relationship of listening skill of observation report texts to the skill of writing the text of the result of observation of the seventh grade students of SMK Negeri 3 Padang. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive method. The sample in this study amounted to 30 people. The data of this research is score of skill test result listening the observation report text. Based on data analysis and discussion, the following three things are obtained. First, the skill of writingthe text of the result of observation of the seventh grade students of SMK Negeri 3 Padang is in good qualification (65,56). Second, the skill of listening to the text of the result of observation of the seventh grade students of SMKNegeri 3 Padang is in good qualification (79,44).

This article explores an alter-native (that is, to use native insights to alter existing knowledge and modes, and to alter native insights if they tend to serve the interests of colonizers/outsiders rather than the colonized/locals) way of reading the Bible based on the Tongan notion of tālanga, and from the perspective of a Tongan tu'a (commoner). The intention is to contribute in a small way to the ongoing attempt by indigenous scholars to promote a shift from the restrictive tendency of Western scholarship into a more open mode; from one that is dictated by disciplinary questions to another that is shaped by practical questions; from approaches that serve academia to ones that serve the community in which real people live. The term tālanga is herein defined as a way of being and a way of speaking, and thus theorized as a way of reading. Its key elements serve as analytical lenses for a mode of interpretation that aims to be critical and liberating at once.

The production of phonological patterns is a very complicated process especially when alveolar consonant sounds are pronounced in International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). The toddlers ageing 2-3 years as well as the language handicaps find it more complicated to cope with this sound process. The present study on toddlers aims at investigating the alveolar consonant sounds in keeping with single word production. The Iowa Test of Consonant Perception by Jason Geller was implemented to investigate sound productions in the perspective of Substitution Process proposed by Burnthal and Rankson (2004). This research is motivated by the problem of the relationship between women and nature with male power which is reflected poetically by Dorothea Rosa Herliany in two poems entitled "Nikah Sungai" and "Nikah Pisau". Based on that problem, this study aims to describe (a) the power of male patriarchal necrophilia over women; and (b) the attitude of women as an effort to free themselves from the necrophiliac power of men. The research method used is qualitative with descriptive content analysis techniques. The research findings show two things. First, the poems "Nikah Sungai" dan "Nikah Pisau" reflect men's efforts to destroy women's natural reproductive abilities using the power of necrophilia through manipulating various natural resources such as plants, rocks, sand, animal carcasses, soil, and poison as weapons. Este artigo apresenta um recorte das produções lexicográficas e terminográficas da Língua Brasileira de Sinais – Libras, emergentes no contexto acadêmico brasileiro, e os principais processos morfológicos envolvidos na expansão lexical de uma língua sinalizada. Tais processos e produtos refletem a ocorrência de neologismos coletados em espaços universitários que resultou no registro dessas novas unidades sinalizadas.
