Стаття розглядає важливу роль цифрової компетентності у сучасному світі. Мета роботи полягає в схарактеризуванні специфіки цифрової компетентності людей похилого віку, запропонуванні критеріїв сформованості такої компетентності та представленні змісту програми формування цифрової компетентності на прикладі клієнтів територіального центру соціального обслуговування (надання соціальних послуг) Подільського району м. Полтави. У роботі використовується методологія, яка включає аналіз документів щодо цифрової компетентності та програми її формування, а також проведення опитування слухачів програми (N=360). The purpose of this paper is to systematize and justify the factors for the effective implementation of digitalization to ensure the innovative development of agriculture in Azerbaijan. Based on the survey completed by 1,513 senior managers of agricultural enterprises in Azerbaijan, the key factors and barriers to digitalization of agriculture were substantiated: the cost of introducing and using digital technologies, unregulated legislative processes of digitalization of the industry, and the level of cybersecurity. The early 1970s brought fundamental transitions in international scientific collaboration that significantly affected the international relations in global patterns that are still relevant today. This article uses a multi-perspective approach to argue that the underlying condition for the globalization of science diplomacy was the increasing participation of recently independent countries in international technoscientific affairs, examining critical research areas, including space exploration, oceanography, nuclear technoscience, the environmental sciences, and health and population studies. Bruno Latour (1947-2022) was a prominent philosopher who critically interpreted the Anthropocene discourse. In this article, I highlight the impact of his legacy, particularly in political and philosophical Anthropocene debates. I attempt to position Latour’s critical philosophical thinking legacy within the framework of Anthropocene debates. Bruno Latour has a strong position in explaining current Anthropocene issues, especially related to actor and network reposition, political Gaia, and criticism of the new climate change regime. However, despite the Anthropocene debate, I position Latour’s notion as an entry point to open up explanations concerning the ontology of Anthropocene that can begin by understanding Latour’s breakthroughs in the context of surpassing the metaphysical demarcation of subject/object by radicalizing pluralistic ontology. Introduction Canada has long been known for its openness and diversity. Throughout history, immigration has been a key part of Canada’s growth and development. Globalization has enabled Canada to attract the best and brightest in an effort to diversify and improve the workforce and society as a whole. This trend precipitated the introduction of the “Canadian Experience Class” (CEC) in 2008. The CEC allows applicants with sufficient language skills, a Canadian post-secondary degree, and one year of Canadian work experience to access a relatively straightforward route to permanent residency (Citizenship and Immigration Canada, 2008).

The global economy operates as a complex and interconnected system, necessitating the application of sophisticated network methods for analysis. This study examines economic data from all countries across the globe, representing each country as a node and its exports as links, covering the period from 2008 to 2019. Through the computation of relevant indices, we can discern shifts in countries’ positions within the world trade network. By interpreting these changes through geopolitical perspectives, we can gain a deeper understanding of their root causes. The analysis reveals a notable trend of slow growth in the world trade network. Additionally, an intriguing observation emerges: countries naturally form stable groups, shedding light on the underlying structure of global trade relations. Furthermore, this research highlights the trade balance as a reflection of geopolitical strength, making it a valuable contribution to the study of the evolution of global geopolitical stability.

Nations in the global South tend to embrace ideas, practices, and trends from the global North as the standard. This is in many instances at the expense of their suitability in the current situation and environment of the global South. For instance, issues revolving around the Fourth Industrial Revolution is a typical example. In recent times, the adjustments in the education and other sectors in the Global North to accommodate practices of the Fourth Industrial Revolution are beginning to flood the Global South where many basic and necessary infrastructures are lacking. Issues such as curricular review are being raised and considered, while conferences, workshops, seminars, amongst others are being organized to ensure that learning institutions are positioned to suit the demand of Fourth Industrial Revolution. For instance, coding is fast becoming a major subject to be considered even from primary schools, though not necessarily meeting the local demands.

As in all commercial enterprises, audit activities are very important in banks. The results of the audit activities reveal how well the activities of the organization are functioning. Audit processes are carried out by committees appointed by the boards of directors. In this study, the effect of audit committee effectiveness on bank profitability is analyzed. The data used in the analysis belong to participation banks operating in Turkey from 2015 to 2021. The selected variables were obtained from reports prepared according to the auditing standards applied in the banking sector. A balanced panel data method is used in the study. As a result of the analysis, a significant and positive relationship was found between the effectiveness of the audit committee and the ratio of net dividend income to assets (NKEK) at a 10% statistical significance level. This study deals with the changing occupations of Sherpa people who has been recognized as 'high altitude porter' for their courage in climbing difficult mountains. After having a lot of in person formal/informal conversation, focus group discussion and in field observations for 15 days with heterogeneous people in Khumbu region of Nepal, the study tried to find reasons of distractions of younger generation in maintaining their ancestral professions. Narrative interview has been conducted with Sherpa mountaineers, business persons, porters, young students and teachers. An effort has been made to analyze the issues of Sherpa community people through cognitive dissonance theory developed by Leon Festinger in 1957. This study explores development of civic participation in children in primary grade classrooms. It examines how teachers and administrators create a culture of democratic participation that nurtures young children’s developing civic competence and embodiment of the rules, rights and responsibilities of democratic citizenship; and how young children enact these rules, rights and responsibilities within the classroom. Obstacles and challenges faced by schools in achieving these goals within the current political and socioeconomic environment that frames education in the U.S.

O artigo pretende apresentar uma reflexão sobre as políticas educativas e os discursos que as justificam, num tempo de procura de integração de Portugal no espaço europeu após a década de sessenta e especialmente no quadro democrático do pós-revolucionário de 1974, identificando uma relevância gradual no entendimento do papel primordial do sistema educativo no desenvolvimento económico. Defende que, especialmente a partir da década de 80, e a partir de uma análise empírica das palavras-chave, revela-se um carácter híbrido nos discursos dos responsáveis políticos que associa uma orientação construtivista numa perspectiva crítica com a apologia da eficácia do sistema, entendida como necessária à produtividade económica. Considera-se a importância do contexto nacional e do sentido que as suas características conferem ao modelo globalizado de modernização para explicar por que a tendência homogeneizante da regulação internacional é mitigada por preocupações de cariz emancipatório.
