THE CHARTER OF EMPEROR STEFAN UROŠ REGARDING PEACE WITH
THE CITY OF DUBROVNIK
Onogošt, August 22, 1362

This paper offers a critical edition of the charter of Emperor Stefan Uroš regarding peace with the city of Dubrovnik, followed by its translation in  modern Serbian langage and  appropriate explanations. The charter was issued on August 22, 1362. It is kept in the Dubrovnik State Archives.
The Emperor Stefan Uroš made peace and renewed friendship with Dubrovnik. The peace agreement also included the reconciliation of Dubrovnik with knez Vojislav and Kotor. The merchant privileges of Dubrovnik were confirmed. The charter resolved the issues concerning with the material and human losses during the war. The people of Dubrovnik were obliged to continue to pay the tributes and gifts that they paid before the war. The tribute for Mljet and Žrnovnica was listed by name.

Један од најзаступљенијих мотива средњовековног задужбинарства је остваривање права на вечни помен. Рад предстaвља настојање да се расветли питање на који су начин ктиторима служени помени у манастирима. Студенички и Хиландарски типик у посебном поглављу прописују начин служења помена Светом Симеону, уз појање панихида, свеноћна бдења и друге почасти. Током времена, из служења оваквих помена развија се прослављање празника посвећеог светом ктитору, уз свечану трпезу и давање милостиње на вратима манастира. Поред помена у својим гробним и "рукотвореним" црквама, српски владари су ктиторска права стекли у бројним светогорским манастирима. Поједине повеље с краја 14. и из 15. века садрже прецизна упутства о поменима Лазаревићима и Бранковићима. Уочено је да је дошло до одређених промена у богослужбеном делу вршења помена ктиторима, као и да су они постaли учесталији у познијем периоду.

Actuará conforme a las normas tridentinas, pero se mostrará reacio a participar de la rigidez imperante en la Iglesia renacentista. Por ello, desde el Oratorio primero y después a través de la Congregación, intentará mantenerse fuera de la norma establecida, pero siempre dentro de sus límites. Este florentino, además, fundará una comunidad secular, independiente y autónoma. Y tras un largo proceso será finalmente canonizado. Sirvan pues las siguientes líneas para conocer a este personaje que será nombrado "Patrón y Apóstol de Roma".

The siege of Aleppo by the crusaders posed a threat to the city's security, livelihood, and economy. The inefficiency of the city's rulers brought Aleppo to the brink of collapse. In response, Shiite families and Imami judges in Aleppo worked to eliminate this threat. This study aims to examine the role of Shiite judges in creating security in Aleppo. The findings of this study reveal that the judges in Aleppo utilized their social and divine influence to invite powerful Sunni rulers, such as the Artuqids and the rulers of Mosul, to restore political, livelihood, and economic security in Aleppo. The judges' political actions were primarily focused on military attacks, famine, disease, and the shutting down of trade. Therefore, this study examines the political, social, and economic context of Aleppo to understand the actions of these judges.

Al igual que los capítulos previos, este ensayo tiene como finalidad
hacer una valoración del papel que tuvo el notariado, en este caso
en el proceso de Conquista, pero también de modo posterior en la
fundación y establecimiento de un nuevo modelo social durante
el período virreinal. Decidimos tomar como eje central la figura de
Hernán Cortés, porque consideramos que tuvo una enorme agencia en
este proceso, debido a que recibió cierta educación jurídica en sus años
en la Universidad de Salamanca y, por ende, entendía la importancia
de generar un cuerpo notarial incluso antes de haber concretado la
conquista de Tenochtitlan. A la par, no obviamos la relevancia que
tuvieron en este proceso notarios como Diego de Godoy y Pedro
Gutiérrez de Valderramar, quienes dieron fe y certeza jurídica a cada
una de las acciones que llevaron a cabo los conquistadores.

Дерптское епископство во главе с ганноверцем Дитрихом Резелером (1413–1441) играло самостоятельную роль во взаимоотношениях ВКЛ с филиалами Немецкого ордена в Пруссии и Ливонии. Благодаря влиянию «ганноверцев» вселенский собор в Констанце сделал Витовта «протектором» Дерптского епископства и включил литовского князя в социальные практики, характерные для латинских государей. Защита от «неверных» и «схизматиков» обеспечивала Витовту равный статус с ливонским магистром Ордена в деле восточной «миссии» и уменьшала вероятность «девиантного поведения» – союзов со «схизматиками» или антипапские интриги. Благодаря заступничеству Витовта, Дитрих Резелер обеспечивал интересы «ганноверцев» в Ливонии и защиту от Немецкого ордена. Коммуникативные навыки епископа способствовали реализации проекта перемирия между Немецким орденом, Великим княжеством Литовским и Польшей. В 1429 г. «ганноверцы» предприняли неудачную попытку сместить Немецкий орден на ведущих ролях в Ливонской конфедерации, что не пошатнуло их позиции – Дитрих Резелер посредничал в конфликте Ордена и рижского архиепископа на Базельском соборе и продолжал лоббировать интересы своей семьи.

Recent research has widely emphasized the role of public written records and data-managing strategies in late-medieval governmental growth. The necessity to control information and to assure that a timely stream of news and communications circulated among the various components of a composite domain became central for princes and governments. Such a need was translated into new documentary techniques and archival organization by the endless work of many professionals at various territorial levels. However, the increasing recourse to recorded information was a multifaceted phenomenon. To better understand its complexity, the essay will investigate the intersection of spoken and written strategies of information-gathering and negotiation. Secondly, the paper will also take into account the ambivalent dynamics underlying the recording of the various means required not only to rule a composite territorial domain, but also to control its administrative, judicial and fiscal geography. Whereas the use of written records became the norm for the establishment of a new political order, that practice sometimes, and for different reasons, also contributed to preserving the memory of a different past. In order to adequately capitalize on late-medieval Italy’s complexity, the essay will examine different records and different contexts. The examples will be taken from a set of composite polities in post-communal northern and central Italy (ranging from Milan to Florence or Mantua) which shared some common features, but which were also different in size, strength, ideological models and material constitution. The considered timespan will be a long Quattrocento going from the mid-fourteenth to the early sixteenth century.

This contribution aims to offer a picture of the "exceptores" and their transformations between Late Antiquity and the early Middle Ages (fifth-eighth centuries). After some general considerations concerning not only Italy, but also Gaul and Egypt, the discussion focuses then on Ravenna. The core of the investigation consists of a complete re-examination of the so-called 'Ravenna papyri". Such documents – and the "editiones gestorum" in particular – are here used to illustrate social profiles, institutional links as well as cultural and professional skills of the "exceptores". From there, the article tries at the end to reflect on the possible contribution that the documentary practices of the "exceptores" can offer to a better understanding of the "Collectio Avellana".

Diese Tischvorlagen sind eine Reihe von relativ kurzen (3-5 Seiten) Präsentationen, die in einem zugänglichen Format die akademische Diskussion über Themen im Zusammenhang mit der ersten Sitzung der XVI. ordentlichen Generalversammlung der Bischofssynode der römisch-katholischen Kirche und, allgemeiner, mit der Synode 2021-2024, zusammenfassen. Sie richten sich an alle, die über die akademischen Debatten zur Synodalität informiert werden wollen, insbesondere an die Teilnehmer der Synode 2023. Il volume rappresenta il primo tentativo di «ricostruzione» del registro deperdito delle bolle di Celestino V (5 luglio - 13 dicembre 1294). Dell’esistenza di tale registro sono testimonianza dieci bolle originali che riportano a tergo la R di registrazione e il numero con cui il documento si trovava trascritto nel registro. Nel settembre 1294, Celestino V mise a capo della Cancelleria Giovanni da Castrocielo, arcivescovo di Benevento e già monaco di Montecassino. Le novanta bolle originali di Celestino V che sono state reperite risultano redatte nel pieno rispetto delle norme diplomatistiche della Cancelleria papale e attestano l’attività di trentuno scriptores. Certa è anche la presenza di quattro notai. Nel volume sono affrontati e discussi i problemi relativi alla ricerca, alla tipologia, alla cronologia e all’edizione dei testi e viene presentata una sintesi tematica delle bolle pubblicate.

Herr Roland, kyrkoherde i uppländska Nora, var Bureättling och omnämns vanligtvis i litteraturen med dopnamnet Roland, följt av det latiniserade fadersnamnet Olai och sist tillnamnet Bure. Huruvida kyrkoherden faktiskt förekommer i samtida källor med namnet Bure har inte tidigare behandlats närmare i litteraturen. Den här undersökningen lyfter fram ett antal källor där kyrkoherden omnämns med tillnamnet Bure. Utifrån rådande forskningsläge på området analyseras de sammanhang i vilka tillnamnet användes och om det är möjligt att se någon förändring i tillnamnsbruket över tid. Därtill redovisas arkivfynd som ökar kunskapen om kyrkoherdens släktkrets. Bland annat redogörs för hur herr Roland kunde räkna biskopen i Strängnäs, Erik Gabrielsson Emporagrius, som sin frände.

Centrado en la Península Ibérica y abierto a comparaciones en el Occidente cristiano, este libro estudia el fenómeno de la archivística que afecta a la historia, los derechos y la memoria de las familias, la génesis de estos archivos familiares, su historia a lo largo de las generaciones, su estatus y su papel: tesoro, arsenal, memorial.


[FR] Historiens et archivistes ont noué un dialogue original et fécond pour proposer dans ce volume une réflexion sur les archives dites de famille. Elle confronte les regards, les recherches et des expériences pour un sujet inscrit à la croisée de champs scientifiques renouvelés : l’étude des pratiques de l’écrit, l’histoire des archives – et l’archivistique / l’archival science –, de la parenté. Toutes les dimensions des archives familiales sont interrogées (archives des familles royales – ou du royaume ? –, nobles, dans leur diversité, mais aussi marchandes et paysannes ; fabrique des archives / de la « famille », du lignage, de la Maison ?) dans une péninsule Ibérique ouverte à la comparaison avec d’autres aires géographiques. Dépassant la classique césure entre Moyen Âge et Modernité, la production, conservation, transmission et réorganisation des archives familiales, désormais sujets d’étude per se, sont saisies en mouvement, dans leur historicité et dans la transversalité sociale des pratiques.

Nell'archivio dell'abbazia di San Paolo fuori le mura in Roma si conservano le carte medievali del monastero di San Magno di Amelia, tra le quali si conta un singolare documento in duplice copia relativo alle spese sostenute dalle monache ameline per una causa da loro intentata per rivendicare beni e diritti sul territorio ma trascinatasi per decenni davanti a numerosi tribunali: il documento, inedito, consente di gettare uno sguardo sull'impegno economico che richiedeva una causa giudiziaria discussa nell'Italia del XIV secolo.

Background: The number of maternal deaths as a result of obstructed labor is 8% globally but this number varies in developing country, it ranges 4-70% of all maternal deaths and it is also associated to high perinatal mortality rate. Objective of the study was to find out the proportion of obstructed labour cases and their feto-maternal outcome during last 3 years at tertiary level institute.Methods: A cross sectional observation study was done at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, People’s College of Medical Sciences and Research Centre Bhopal. All pregnant women presenting with obstructed labor who delivered at our hospital during last 3 years duration (January 2015 to December 2017) were studied for their feto -maternal outcome.Results: 53% cases had duration of trail more than 16 hours. 84% were referred from primary health centers of nearby rural areas.
