Traditional wooden shrines in Japan are in general not fixed to the base and instead of that columns rest on stone bases. Then in case of horizontal loads like earthquakes they are resisted by friction forces developed between bottom part of columns and stone surface of base. In this research, vibrational characteristics of a selected shrine are estimated from ambient vibration measurements by using Fourier spectrum. Then a reduced scale model was tested on shaking table to investigate its dynamic response when specimen is subjected to pulse wave and sinusoidal wave. Instead of stone ceramic tiles were used as base considering that selected tile surface has similar characteristics as stone surface. From this shaking table test equivalent friction coefficient was obtained and it was also verified sliding behavior and in-plant torsional behavior. Sagging of suspended or laminated structures is a common problem in the processing of Low Temperature Co-Fired Ceramics (LTCC). These glass-ceramic composites are susceptible to plastic deformation upon lamination, or under the stress of body forces once the glass transition temperature of the glass binder is reached during processing. We have designed and fabricated, using the conventional methods of LTCC fabrication, meso-scale structures (ranging in size from 100 mm to 1 cm) to quantify and seek control strategies for this problem. We have implemented bridge structures and membranes to emulate most of the conventional structures encountered during packaging or sensor (actuator) device fabrication.We have observed that when an LTCC tape with holes larger than 400 µm in diameter is laminated, the tapes above and below deform into the cavity. This research uses particle swarm optimization with the Tournament Constriction Coefficient to resolve engineering design optimization problems. Mostly the engineering design problems can be formulated as constrained optimization problems. If the constraint functions are nonlinear and non-convex in nature, constrained optimization becomes a computationally challenging task. Therefore, hybrid algorithms are immensely popular to solve optimization problems which are particularly unalike from the existing classical optimization techniques. In order to deal with constrained optimization problems, in this paper, we have implemented a hybrid algorithm called the tournament PSO-Co (TPSO-Co) which is based upon the concept of tournament games and constriction coefficient-based Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO-Co). Here, the performance of the proposed algorithm is improved over that of other well-known optimization algorithms that have previously been examined throughout the literature. To illustrate the proposed approach, some well-known test problems as well as engineering design problems have been solved and computed results have been presented and compared with the others. Finally, the significance of the study and the scope of possible future research are suggested.

More often than not, higher education curricula expound Western-oriented epistemologies of psychology. Trained psychologists may thus not be appropriately equipped to provide career counselling that is suitable to a resource-scarce environment, nor enriched with a heritage of knowledge related to customary career resilience practices. Rather than enabling clients, one could argue that existing career counselling training, and subsequent practice, may in fact hinder clients ’ ability to adapt and flourish in their (career-)lives. In this context, a statistical physics approach has been exploited as a very convenient method because of its deep connection with graph theory and because of its ability to quantitatively characterize macroscopic phenomena in terms of the microscopic dynamics of the various systems. Our research focuses on the development of appropriate models of spreading dynamics, such as diffusion models of opinion formation and spreading of infections. A reduction in track width of ultra-high density magnetic recording such as bit-patterned media recording (BPMR) results in an increase in areal density. However, the unfortunate appearance of extreme inter-symbol interference (ISI) and inter-track interference (ITI) can severely deteriorate the system performance. To deal with these problems, we propose to use a single-reader/two-track reading (SRTR) technique, where a single reader was employed to read two parallel-track at once and the bit islands were arranged in a staggered manner. Then, a received readback signal was sampled at an over-sampling rate, where an obtained data sequence can be operated using only a one-dimensional equalization and detection scheme. In today’s world digital right protection is an important issue. Finger printing codes are used in this digital right protection. When digital media have to be distributed each digital media is embedded with a unique code. The digital content received by each recipient has a unique digital finger printing code. Illegal distribution of digital media is identified by the unique finger printing codes and the traitors distributing these illegal copies are caught. These finger printing codes can be attacked by colluders. In these attacks a combination of users to whom the digital media is distributed collude together to attack the finger printing codes. The collusion attacks are threats to prevention of piracy of the digital content. The work here simulates Tardos Finger Printing Codes with Randomized Bits Collusion Attacks and evaluates the performance of Tardos Finger Printing Codes under this attack.
